Dermal Fillers

Filling process is carried out to treat deep wrinkles due to ageing and to reshape the face and ensure volume. The most frequently used agent for filling is hyaluronic acid which is already available in the body and is a non-allergenic agent. Hyaluronic acid can retain moisture thousand times more than its own size and when is injected, it can maintain its shape for a long time. Consequently, it is the ideal and most preferred filling agent.
In order for the filling process to be successful, detailed information about the anatomy of face, experience and aesthetical point of view are also desired besides the technical and medical knowledge. Filling procedures are more practical than surgical operations. Following slight anaesthesia through creams, the procedure takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes. It does not affect the patients’ social life. The procedure can be carried out even during lunch breaks. The result of procedure is immediately visible. Patients do not need to wait to see the result. Not special care is needed following the procedure.

Where are the filling agents used?
Nasolabial lines
Philtral lines
Lip filling
Lines around the mouth
Wrinkles around eyes
Wrinkles on forehead
Post-accident or post-traumatic deformities
Cheek and cheekbone filling
Reshaping of some body asymmetries

How long does the operation take and how long does its effect last?
A single session takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes. Hyaluronic acid is injected into different layers of skin through a tiny needle or cannulas. It is commonly applied in 2 subsequent sessions. If it is the first time the patient has undergone this operation, a complementary session might be needed 2 or 3 weeks later. The effect lasts for 6-12 months depending on the quality of the filling agent used and the skin type of the patient.

How is lip filling performed?
Following the application of an anaesthetic cream, dental anaesthesia is performed and the filling agent is injected into the lines around the lips or inside the lips. This helps the lip line to become clear and lips look more fleshy.
